Flight from USA to Tel-Aviv Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport near Tel-Aviv where your Coral representative will be waiting to greet and assist you. Meet your guide and drive to your hotel. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Tel Aviv. In the morning travel through the Sharon plain to Caesarea, the seat of the Roman Procurator of Judea at the time of Christ, and the site where Peter converted the centurion Cornelius. This fortified harbor city was built 2000-years-ago by King Herod the Great. View the ruins of Roman, Byzantine and Crusader times. Explore the Roman Theater and the Aqueducts. A drive up Mt. Carmel brings you to the site where Elijah challenged and defeated the 450 prophets of Baal. Continue to Megiddo, the Fortress City of King Solomon, later built again by King Ahab. The books of Daniel and Revelation come alive as you study about the final Battle of Armageddon. Drive to Mt. Precipice for a view of Nazareth. On your way to Tiberias pass Cana of Galilee. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Tiberias. The day begins with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Continue to Kibbutz Ginosar and visit the “ancient boat” believed to be from the time of Jesus. Continue on to Hazor. Drive to Tel Dan, an important biblical city and a breathtaking nature reserve. The bible mentions the city a few times: “From Dan to Beer Sheba”. Continue to Banias, site of ancient Caesarea Philippi. It is here that Peter made his confession of faith in Jesus (Matthew 16:13). Enjoy a panoramic view of the Golan Heights from Mt. Bental. In the afternoon visit Nazareth Village. Return to Tiberias. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Tiberias. This morning visit the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered the sermon on the mount (Matthew 5:1-12). Continue to Tabgha. Visit Capernaum, the town Jesus made his home after leaving Nazareth. Capernaum is the place where Jesus recruited the first of His disciples (Matthew 4:13, Luke 4:31-37, Matthew 8:14-17, Mark 2:1-12, Matthew 8:5-13, Mark 5:21-43, Matthew 11:23-24). Visit the excavation of the ancient synagogue and the house of St. Peter. Visit the newly dug site of Bethsaida, which, according to scripture, is the site of the feeding of the 5000. Continue on to Kursi, the site of the miracle with the swine. We’ll end the day at the Jordan River with an opportunity to be baptized (optional). Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Tiberias. Today is Independence day! After breakfast leave Tiberias and drive to Bet She’an. Recent excavations have unveiled the impressive ruins of the country’s largest city in the Roman and Byzantine periods, which was destroyed by an earthquake in 749 AD. Drive through the Jordan Valley and stop at the War Monument of the Jordan Valley (at the Junction of Ma’ale Ephraim) overlooking the Gilgal region, the crossing point of the Israelites to the Promised Land. On to Ein Harod – Gideon’s Spring. Continue along the Jordan Valley past Jericho, believed to be the world’s oldest walled city. This was the first city taken by Joshua when the Hebrews returned from Egypt –”and the walls fell down”- and was also the site of the Mt. of Temptation. Drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. You will also visit Tel Arad. Dinner and overnight: Hotel at the Dead Sea. This morning enjoy a “float” on the Dead Sea. Depart your hotel at the Dead Sea and drive to Masada and ascend Masada by cable car. Explore the ancient excavation of Herod’s Palaces, the bathhouse, the storerooms, the ramp, and the oldest synagogue in the world. Continue to Ein Gedi, an oasis on the Dead Sea shore. Near the 200 meter high waterfall is a cave where David had his famous meeting with King Saul (First Samuel 24: 1-23). A walk around the reservation confirms that Ein Gedi is one of the most beautiful reservations in the world. Drive to Jerusalem and enter the city as a pilgrim. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem. After breakfast drive to Mt. Moriah. Visit the Western Wall, last remnant of the second Jewish Temple during the time of Jesus. Walk up to the Temple site and view the Dome of the Rock and El Aqsa Mosque. Visit the Cardo (the Jewish Quarter) and the Davidson Center (Southern Wall). Stand next to the excavation of the City of David and partake in the archaeological sifting of the remains of the Temple Mount (“Emek Zurim”). Continue to the City of David and Hezekiah’s Tunnel. Walk to the Pool of Bethesda and St. Anne’s Church, a fine example of Crusader architecture. End your day with a visit to the Rabbinical Tunnel. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem. Take a morning drive to the western side of the city. Stand next to the Menorah, across from the Knesset (Israeli parliament). Then, visit Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Memorial, a visit you will never forget. Continue to the Israel Museum, where the Dead Sea Scrolls are displayed and the Holy Land walk-around model of the city of Jerusalem as it was in the Second Temple period. End your visit with communion at the Garden Tomb. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem. Spend the morning out of Jerusalem visiting Bet Shemesh, Zorah in the Soreck Valley and the Ella Valley. Return to Jerusalem. Ascend the Mount of Olives for a breathtaking panoramic view of the Old City of Jerusalem. Walk along the Palm Sunday Way and descend to the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus spent the last night before he was arrested. Drive along the Kidron Valley and see the Tombs of Absalom, Zachary, and James. Farewell dinner. Overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem.
