Return to your cruise ship.  Dinner and overnight aboard the M/S Jasmin.

Thu - April 29, 2010: Aswan, Kom Ombo & Edfu [B,L,D] Breakfast aboard ship.  Sail to Kom Ombo.  The Temple of Kom Ombo is unique in all of Egypt and is shared by the two gods Sobek and Haroeris.  Lunch aboard ship.  Continue sailing to Edfu.  Dinner and overnight aboard the M/S Jasmin.

Fri - April 30, 2010: Edfu, Esna, & Luxor [B,L,D]
Today we visit the Temple of Edfu, a Greek-built monument to Horus, falcon-headed son of Osiris.  It took about 200
years to complete and has helped fill in many gaps of knowledge about the Pharaonic architecture that it imitates. Sail to Esna, and cross Esna Lock to Luxor, one of Egypt’s greatest attractions for the sheer grandeur of its monumental architecture and excellent preservation.Dinner and over night aboard the M/S Jasmin.

Sat - May 1, 2010: Luxor & Cairo [B,D]
In the morning disembark and board your touring coach to visit the West Bank of the Nile and the Valley of the Kings, where 64 of Egypt’s Pharaohs have their royal tombs hewn into the sheer rock.  Continue to the impressive Deir El Bahari mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon, two huge seated statues of Amenhotep III.  Highlights of today’s tour are visits to the Temple of Karnak, and Luxor Temple, strikingly graceful and added to over the centuries by Tutankhamen, Ramses II, Alexander
the Great and others.  Late evening flight back to Cairo. Transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight.

Sun - May 2, 2010: Cairo [B,D]
In the morning, visit the Egyptian Museum. We could spend days exploring every corner of this vast museum, seeing all the artifacts of the ancient kingdoms.  The spectacular finds of Howard Carter in King Tutankhamen’s tomb, the unusual Amenhotep IV and many more wonderful articles will show you what life for the pharaohs may have been.  In the after- noon we will continue on into the Old City of Cairo where you will get a touch of all the great religions of Egypt today. First we will visit Saint Sergius Church, a 4th century church considered the oldest of Cairo’s Christian churches.  It is dedicated to two early martyrs and traditionally believed to have been built on the spot where the Holy Family rested at the end of their journey into Egypt.  Visit The Hanging Church (El Muallaqa), the most famous Coptic Christian church in Cairo, built in Basilcan style.  It was probably built during the patriarchate of Isaac (690-92 AD).  The church waslargely rebuilt by the patriarch Abraham (975-78 AD) and has seen many other restorations.  We will visit one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world: the Pyramids.  The phrase ‘awe inspiring’ is really true as you stand in their shadow.  We’ll see the Valley Temple where the Pharoahs were first laid out for their funeral before entering the tombs.Of course, the Sphinx will be there before the pyramids. We will walk through the ancient Khan el Khalili Bazaar where we can imagine Egyptians of centuries past bartering for goods, much as we do today.  Dinner and overnight Cairo.
