Day 1 – February 15 - Monday: USA - Israel

 | Day 2 – February 16 - Tuesday: Arrival – Jaffa - Tiberias
Upon arrival at the airport in Israel meeting and assistance by Coral Travel representative. Drive to Jaffa, one of the oldest cities in the world. Visit the House of Simon the Tanner and walk through Jaffa's reconstructed Old Quarter. Drive to Tiberias. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Tiberias. |
Day 3 – February 17 - Wednesday: Sea of Galilee- Golan Heights
The day starts with a drive to the Mt. of Beatitudes, site of the Sermon on the Mount. Drive along the Hula Valley to Tel Dan and visit the remains of the city. Continue on to Caesarea Philippi, where Peter made his confession of faith to Jesus. Via a ride through the Golan Heights we return to the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee, the area where Jesus spent his years of ministry. See the ruins of Capernaum, the town where Jesus made his home after leaving Nazareth. View the remains of the ancient synagogue in which he may have preached and the house of Peter. After a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee continue to Tabgha where the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes took place. St. Peter fish dinner and overnight: Hotel in Tiberias.

Day 4 – February 18 - Thursday: Cana – Nazareth – Megiddo – Caesarea – Jerusalem
After breakfast drive via the city of Cana, where Jesus attended a Wedding Feast with his disciples and performed the first miracle: turning water into wine. Proceed to Nazareth where Jesus spent his childhood and visit the Church of the Annunciation. We will pass Mt. Tabor, where Deborah and Barak commended armies of Israel. Mt. Tabor was the site of Transfigura- tion. Proceed to Megiddo, the Fortress City of King Solomon, later built by King Ahab. The books of Daniel and Revelation will come alive as we study about the final Battle of Armageddon, while viewing the plains of Jezreel. On to Mt. Carmel will bring us to the site where Elijah challenged and defeated the 450 prophets of the Baal. Continue to Caesarea, the seat of the Roman Procurator of Judea at the time of the Christ, and the site where Peter converted the centurion Cornelius. This fortified harbor city harbor city was built 2000 years ago by King Herod the Great. View the ruins of the Roman, Byzantine and Crusader times. Explore the Roman Theater and the Aqueducts. Our day ends in Jerusalem. Enter the city of Jerusalem in the traditional way.Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem.

Day 5 – February 19 - Friday: Jerusalem
Drive to the west side of the city and visit Yad Vashem the Holocaust Museum. See the Menorah next to the Knesset building. Visit the Israel Museum where the Dead Sea Scrolls are kept in the Shrine of the Book and the Holy Land model of Jerusalem as it was in the Second Temple period. In the afternoon travel east past Jericho, believed to be the world’s oldest walled city. This was the first city taken by Joshua when the Hebrews returned from Egypt – ‘and the walls fell down’ – which was also the site of the Mount of Temptation. Continue along the shore of the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth to Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls where found. Enjoy an afternoon "float" on the Dead Sea. Return to Jerusalem and pass the traditional site of the Inn of the Good Samaritan. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem.

Day 6 – February 20 – Saturday: Jerusalem
After breakfast ascend the Mt. of Olives for a breathtaking panoramic view of the old city of Jerusalem. Walk along the Palm Sunday way. Descend to the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus spent the last night before he was arrested. Visit the Church of All Nations. Drive along the "Last Way" to Mt. Zion. Cross the Kidron Valley and see the Tombs of Absalom, Zachary and James. Drive to Mt. Zion and visit the House of the High Priest Caiphas. Visit the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu. This is the Place where St. Peter denied his Lord 3 times. On to the Last Supper Room and King David’s Tomb. Visit the Church of St. Anne to see the Pools of Bethesda. End the day with a service at the Garden Tomb. Farewell dinner. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem.

Day 7 – February 21 – Sunday: Jerusalem – Jaffa - Rome
The day starts with a visit to Mt. Moriah. Walk through the Jewish Quarter to the Western Wall. Visit the Southern Wall excavation and view the City of David (Davidson Center) and the Western Wall. Depart Jerusalem and transfer to the airport for your flight to Italy. Upon arrival in Rome transfer to the Visconti Hotel.This evening, we get together at a local restaurant for our Welcome dinner with typical Roman cuisine. Overnight: Hotel in Rome.

Day 8 – February 22 – Monday: Rome
Each morning during our stay in Rome, we will enjoy a Buffet breakfast in the dinning room. At 9:00am we’ll board our motorcoach for a guided tour of Rome, highlighting the city’s ancient past and modern present. We’ll drive through Rome’s busy center to the Piazza Venezia, where the impressive monument to Vittorio Emanuele stands as a tribute to Italy’s unification. We pass the Circus Maximus, where chariot races were once held, before stopping at the Colosseum, which stands in the center of Rome as a romantic testament to her past glory. We continue the drive alongside the banks of the Tiber River for an incomparable view of Rome’s oldest and most authentic sections: passing the synagogue, Theater of Marcello, Tibernia Island, and Castle Sant Angelo, the fortress that for hundreds of years guarded the Vatican. At the conclusion of our tour, the remainder of the day is free for individual activities. Dinner on your own. Overnight: Hotel in Rome.
Day 9 – February 23 – Tuesday: Rome
We depart our hotel this morning for a very special privately guided tour of the priceless collection of art, maps and taperstries of the Vatican. We’ll pass thru the Tapestries Gallery and the Maps Gallery. The highlight of our tour is the visit to the Sistine Chapel, where Michelangelo’s famous frescoes are to be seen in new splendor after their recent renovations, revealing vibrant colors and vivid scenes as they were painted over 500 years ago. The unique ceiling of the Sistine Chapel is surely one of Michelangelo’s greatest achievements. We continue to St. Peter’s Basilica, the largest and most important church in the Christian world, where we see another masterpiece created by Michelangelo – The Pieta. Following our visit to the Basilica, we return to our hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Dinner on your own. Overnight: Hotel in Rome.
Day 10 – February 24 – Wednesday: Rome
This morning we depart for the Vatican, where we will attend a special Papal Audience with his holiness Pope John Paul II (subject to His Holiness’ schedule). The balance of the day is free for individual activities. This evening we bid arriverderci to Rome at a special Farewell dinner in a lovely Roman restaurant. Overnight: Hotel in Rome.
Day 11 – February 25 – Thursday: Rome
This morning we are transferred to Rome airport for our return flight home.
