2022 Christian Fellowship Israel Tour

Hosted by Pastor Laurent & Joan Perkins with Rev. Joseph Acton of Healing Ministries

FEBRUARY 6 – 17, 2022

This 2022 Christian Fellowship Tour of Israel hosted by Laurent & Joan Perkins  with Pastor Joseph Acton is a 12-day pilgrimage and biblical-themed tour of the Holy Land. You’ll travel throughout Israel with your own personal Israeli guide and experience many of the places you’ve read about in Scripture, including: Jaffa, Caesarea, Mt. Carmel, Sea of Galilee, Megiddo, the Mount of Olives, Garden of Gethsemane, Mount of Beatitudes, Capernaum, Western Wall, and other important cultural sites like Yad Vashem, and the Israel Museum. This is an incredible opportunity for you and your church friends to discover the roots of your Christian faith and draw closer to Jesus.

Overnight flight from USA to Tel-Aviv.

Upon arrival at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport, our Israeli Coral Tours staff will assist you with customs and immigration, along with the transfer of luggage. You will then board a motor coach, meet your guide, and drive to your hotel along the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. If time permits, we will have a short visit in Jaffa, visiting the city of Simon the Tanner. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Tel Aviv.

Following a very special Israeli breakfast, which you will enjoy each morning, your first day of sightseeing will begin with a ride north up the coast to Caesarea, built by King Herod the Great in 22 B.C.  It was here that Pontius Pilate lived and where the Gospel was first brought to the Gentiles. We will visit the Herodian Theater, the Herodian Aqueduct, and the Herodian Port.  The day will continue with a trip to Megiddo, the Chariot City for Solomon and Ahab, where we will explore the vast archaeological remains of this ancient city. It is then a short ride to Mount Carmel and the Mukhraka, where Elijah faced the prophets of Baal and brought down the fire of God. This will afford you a magnificent panoramic view of the mountains of Samaria, Gilboa, Gilead, and the entire Jezreel Valley. We’ll end the day on the top of the Mt. of Precipitation.  At Nazareth visit the Annunciation Basilica and if time permits, the synagogue. Drive to the shore of the Sea of Galilee passing Cana of Galilee. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Tiberias.

Today’s program will begin with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, where we will participate in song, scripture readings, and prayer on the waters before arriving at the shore for a visit to the Ancient Boat Museum. After a short ride visit St. Peter’s Primacy, the site from John 21. Drive to Capernaum, where Jesus lived during most of his years of ministry and where He chose his first disciples: James, Simon, John, and Andrew. We will visit the remains of an ancient synagogue whose foundations date back to the time of Jesus, as well as Peter’s house. After lunch visit Tabgha, the traditional site of Jesus’ multiplication of the loaves and fish. Next, visit Korazim, mentioned in Mathew 11. We will end our day with a visit to the Mount of the Beatitudes, where Jesus gave the Sermon on the Mount. Here we will have our first Communion in the Holy Land. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Tiberias.

Today is a special day. You will also be able to see the three sources of the Jordan River. Touring will begin with a visit at Tel Dan, an important biblical city and a breathtaking nature reserve. The Bible mentions the city a few times: “From Dan to Beer Sheba”. Drive along the Road to Damascus to Caesarea Philippi, where Peter made his great confession of faith and where Jesus told of His coming death and resurrection. A visit is then planned for the Golan Heights, the scene of bitter fighting of the Six Day War. We will be able to see the snowcapped peak of Mount Hermon, the highest mountain in Israel. After lunch, visit the Olive Oil Factory in the city of Kazrin. Drive to the newly dug site of Bethsaida, which according to some scriptures is the site of the feeding of the 5000. Continue to Kursi, the site of the miracle with the swine. We’ll end the day at Magdala. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Tiberias.

Today’s program will begin, early in the morning, with a short drive that takes us to Gideon’s Spring (En Harod). Afterward, we will visit Bet She’an, one of the best-preserved Decapolis Roman cities. In Bet She’an, the bodies of King Saul and his sons were hung on the city walls after the Philistines defeated them. Stop at Qaser El Yahud, the place where John the Baptist baptized Jesus. The tour continues through the Jordan Valley past Jericho, believed to be the world’s oldest walled city. This was the first city taken by Joshua when the Hebrews returned from Egypt – ‘and the walls fell down.’ It was also the site of the Mount of Temptation (Mark 1:13). Drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Qumran, where the 2000 years old Dead Sea Scrolls were found. End the day at your hotel located on the Shore of the Dead Sea. Dinner and overnight: Hotel at the Dead Sea.

This morning drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Ein Gedi, an oasis on the Dead Sea shore. Near the 200-meter-high waterfall is a cave where David had his famous meeting with King Saul (First Samuel 24: 1-23). A walk around the reservation confirms that Ein Gedi is one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the world. Next, drive to Masada the winter fortress of King Herod the Great.  After ascending the mountain by cable car, we will see the excavated storehouses, baths, and homes of this Biblical society which make up one of Israel’s great archaeological treasures. We will hear the story of the Jewish Zealots who, in 73 A.D, fought against the Roman legions and their commander, Flavius Silva, and how 965 men, women, and children chose to die rather than submit to the advancing Roman army. Return to your hotel at the Dead Sea. The rest of the day at leisure to enjoy the opportunity to float on the Dead Sea, or to enjoy the spa facilities. Dinner and overnight: Hotel at the Dead Sea.

Following  a morning communion service, depart the Dead Sea and drive to Beer Sheva, the biblical city. Visit the excavated and restored city and walk through the incredible water project of the ancient city. On to Bet Shemesh and Zorah in the Soreck Valley. Continue to the Valley of Elah, where David fought Goliath. Drive to Emmaus and visit the site. The day will conclude with a drive along the ancient pilgrim’s route into Jerusalem. We then ascend Mt. Scopus to the majestic city of Jerusalem and enter the city in the traditional way with the She’he’che’yanu blessing. “I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord.’ Our feet are standing within your gates, O Jerusalem.”  Drive to the top of the Mount of Olives where we will enjoy a breath-taking panoramic view of the Old City and the Kidron Valley. Visit Dominos Flevit Church and site. It will then be a short walk down along the Palm Sunday Way to the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus prayed while the disciples slept. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem.

Today’s program will bring you to the Old City of Jerusalem. We’ll start the day on the top of Mount Zion for a visit to St. Peter in Galicantu (the house of the high priest Caiaphas). Walk to the Room of the Last Supper (Cenaculum) and the traditional Tomb of King David.  Walk along the Armenian Quarter. Visit the Jewish Quarter that includes the Herodian Mansion and walk to the Western (Wailing Wall), Judaism’s most holy site. Visit and walk the Western Wall Tunnel. In the afternoon, visit Bethlehem. Pass Rachel’s Tomb on the outskirts, and then continue to the Church of the Nativity and Shepherd’s Fields. Return to Jerusalem. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem.

Your first visit today will be a visit at Mt. MoriahTemple Mount. Walk near the Dome of the Rock and the El Aqsa Mosque. Following a visit to Saint Ann’s Church and the Pool of Bethesda, visit the Sisters of Zion Monastery and Ecce Homo (site of Jesus’ scourging) where you will see authentic Roman pavement at the Antonia Fortification. A walk is planned through the colorful Arab Bazaar where the sounds and smells of the Middle East come alive. Walk to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. After lunch walk to the Davidson Center (the Southern Steps) and we’ll end the day the City of David and the Pool of Siloam. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem.

Our last day will start with a visit at the Menorah at the Knesset. Continue on to the Israel Museum and the Scale Model of the Ancient City of Jerusalem & Dead Sea Scrolls. Here we will get an idea of the layout of the city as it appeared in biblical times. Continue to Yad Vashem, a museum dedicated to the Holocaust, with its Valley of the Lost Communities and Righteous Alley, which contain trees planted in honor of people such as Oscar Schindler, who risked their lives to save Jewish people during World War II. End your visit at Calvary and the Garden Tomb, site of Jesus’ crucifixion, burial, and resurrection. A very special communion service is planned. In the evening our very special Farewell Dinner will be held at Abu-Gosh, a very picturesque and colorful Arab-Israeli village, probably the site of the biblical Kiryat Yearin. We will share our thoughts and feelings regarding the “Israeli Experience”.

Your flight departs around midnight. Arrive Los Angeles, USA early morning on the same day. The staff will provide assistance, as you leave Israel with fond memories of your “Pilgrimage to the Holy Land”.
