This 2023 Israel for Life Holy Land Tour, led by Pastor Ron Baum and wife Julie, is a 10-day bible-themed tour of the Holy Land. You’ll explore many of the places you’ve heard about in the Old & New Testaments such as: Jaffa, Caesarea, Mt. Carmel, Sea of Galilee, Megiddo, Bet She’an, the Mount of Olives, Garden of Gethsemane, Western Wall, along with other cultural sites like the Yad Vashem, and the Israel Museum. Don’t pass up this amazing opportunity to discover the roots of your Christian faith. Flight from USA to Tel-Aviv. Upon arrival at Ben Gurion airport a Coral Travel & Tours representative will greet you. Meet your guide and drive to Jaffa. Jaffa is known in the bible as Joppa and is considered the world’s oldest port cities and the place where the prophet Jonah set sail for Tarshish. Jaffa is also associated with the deeds of Peter. Drive along the Sharon plain to Netanya. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Netanya. After a delicious Israeli breakfast, we drive to Caesarea. Caesarea was the seat of the Roman Procurator of Judea in the time of Christ and the place St. Peter converted the centurion Cornelius (Acts 10:24). Explore the Roman theater and aqueduct. View the ruins of Roman, Byzantine and Crusader times. Continue to Mt. Carmel, to the “Mukhraka,” the site where Elijah challenged and defeated the 450 prophets of Baal (King 18:20). Continue to drive to Megiddo, the fortress city of King Solomon, later built upon by King Ahab. The books of Daniel and Revelation will come alive as we study about the final Battle of Armageddon (Revelation 16: 14-19). Drive through Nazareth, the home of Joseph and Mary and through the city of Cana of Galilee, where Jesus performed his first miracle mentioned in the Bible (John 2: 1-11): turning jars of water into wine. Drive to Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Tiberias. The day starts with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. At Kibbutz Ginossar view the “ancient boat” from Jesus’ time. Continue on to the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:1-12). Visit Tabgha. Visit Peter’s Primacy and Capernaum which is the place where Jesus recruited the first of His disciples (Matthew 4:13, Luke 4:31-37, Matthew 8:14-17, Mark 2:1-12, Matthew 8:5-13, Mark 5:21-43, Matthew 11:23-24). Visit the excavation of the ancient synagogue and the house of St. Peter. For lunch we’ll have an opportunity to sample the St. Peter Fish. End the day at the Jordan River with an opportunity to be baptized (optional). Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Tiberias. Depart Tiberias and drive to Nazareth to visit Nazareth Village. Drive to visit Mt. Gilboa. Continue on to Ein Harod (Gideon’s Spring), the site of Judge Gideon (Judges 7: 1-25). Your next stop will be Bet She’an where recent excavations have disclosed the impressive ruins of the country’s largest city in the Roman and Byzantine periods which was destroyed by an earthquake in 749 CE. The tour continues through the Jordan Valley past Jericho, believed to be the world’s oldest walled city. This was the first city taken by Joshua when the Hebrews returned from Egypt – ‘and the walls fell down.’ It was also the site of the Mount of Temptation (Mark 1:13). Continue to your hotel at the Dead Sea. Dinner and overnight: Hotel at the Dead Sea. After breakfast you will have time to float at the Dead Sea and time for Church Service. Then, depart the hotel and drive to visit Masada. We will ascend Masada by cable car. Masada is the site of the most dramatic act in Jewish History. Explore the ancient excavation of Herod’s Palaces, the bathhouse, the storerooms, the Roman siege ramp, and the oldest synagogue in the world. Continue to Ein Gedi, an Oasis on the Dead Sea shore. Near the 200-meter-high waterfall is a cave where David had his famous meeting with King Saul (First Samuel 24: 1-23). A walk around the reservation confirms that Ein Gedi is one of the most beautiful reservations in the world. Visit Qumran, where the 2000-year-old Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Drive to Jerusalem. Pass the traditional site of the Inn of the Good Samaritan. Enter the city of Jerusalem in the traditional way and view the city from Mt. Scopus. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem. After breakfast we’ll ascend the Mount of Olives (Matthew 24:3, Luke 21:37) for a breathtaking panoramic view of The Old City of Jerusalem. Walk along the Palm Sunday Way to the Garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36-46, Luke 22:39-45, Mark 14:32-42) where Jesus spent the last night before he was arrested. Visit the Church of All the Nations. Drive along the “last way” to Mt. Zion. Cross the Kidron Valley and see the Tombs of Absalom, Zachary and James. Visit the City of David including Jeremiah’s Cistern, Hezekiah’s Tunnel and the Pool of Salome. Then, visit the Church of Peter in Gallicantu (Matthew 26:31-35). This is the place where Peter denied the Lord three times. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem. Early morning drive to Mt. Moriah (Luke 2:46-48, John, 8:1-11, Mark 13:1-2, Matthew 27:51). Walk to the Temple Mount and view the Dome of the Rock and the El Aqsa Mosque. Visit St. Anne’s Church, which is a fine example of Crusader architecture, and the Pools of Bethesda. Walk through the Christian Quarter to the Jewish Quarter and visit the Rabbinical Tunnel. Visit the Davidson Center and the Southern Wall steps and the Western Wall, one of last remnants of the second Jewish Temple. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem. After breakfast drive to Bethlehem and visit the Church of Nativity and Shepherds’ Field. Next visit the Israel Museum, the Shrine of the Book (where some of the Dead Sea Scrolls and Bar Kokhva letters are exhibited) and the Holy Land Model. End the day at the Garden Tomb. Farewell dinner. Overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem. Transfer from Jerusalem hotel to the airport for your flight home.
