Upon arrival at Ben Gurion airport a Coral Travel & Tours representative will greet and assist you. DAY 3 – FRIDAY, MARCH 8

CAESAREA / MOUNT CARMEL / MEGIDDO / SEA OF GALILEE

Depart Herzliya and travel along the Sharon Plains to Caesarea Marittima, the amazing city that Herod the Great built on the Mediterranean Sea and a significant city in Christian history (Acts 9, 10, and 25). Our next stop is Mt. Carmel, where Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal (1 Kings 18). From here we’ll have the view of Israel’s breadbasket, the Jezreel Valley. Continue on to Dalia El Carmel where we will visit a Druze house for Druze hospitality. A short drive takes us to Megiddo to see the site of 21 superimposed cites, dating back to before the days of Solomon. (1 Kings 9:15; Rev. 16:16). There we will see the Valley of Jezreel, also known as the Valley of Armageddon. Afterward it’s time to head to Sea of Galilee for our three-night stay at the fabulous Sea of Galilee hotel. Dinner and Overnight: Hotel in Tiberias.

DAY 4 – SATURDAY, MARCH 9

SEA OF GALILEE / MOUNT OF BEATITUDES / CAPERNAUM / CHORAZIM / YARDENIT

Begin the day with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, viewing a spectacular and special  panorama that Jesus also observed. You can only imagine the stories and experiences that took place in biblical history. After docking, we will stroll through the Yigal Allon Museum which houses the amazing ancient fishing boat discovered and preserved from the time of Jesus. Visit the Mount of Beatitudes. Near this site, Jesus gave the Sermon on the Mount, taught on frequent occasions, and performed many miracles. We will spend some time on the mountainside to pray, sing and meditate on God’s Word. Down the road are two special places. Capernaum, Jesus’ home base, is where the majority of his recorded miracles were experienced. We will actually see the site that history confirms as Peter’s home. The other site, Bethsaida, is the birth village of Peter, Andrew, and Phillip. The site has been excavated lately with many new findings. For lunch you will have the St. Peter’s fish. Next, you’ll visit Chorazim and its excavations. We’ll see the synagogue and the seat of Moses. A stop on the shore of St. Peter’s Primacy where the event of John 21 is believed to have take place. Afterwards, you’ll drop by the recent discovery of biblical city – Magdala. Our day concludes with a memorable and important visit to Yardenit, a pastoral site on the Jordan River, where many choose to be baptized (optional). Dinner and Overnight: Hotel in Tiberias.

DAY 5 – SUNDAY, MARCH 10

DAN / CAESAREA PHILIPPI / NIMROD FORTRESS / MT. BENTAL

The day begins with a drive north to the Biblical city of Dan. Explore the site where King Jeroboam built an alternative “temple” for pagan sacrifices (I Kgs 12:29). We will also see a recent archaeological dig that uncovers a remarkable mud brick city gate entrance from the time of Abraham (Gen. 14: 14 – 2000 BCE). It is approximately 4,000 years old! Nearby, you will stand on the exact spot at the ancient Dan city gate where the only extra-biblical discovery ever found to mention David as House of David, discovered in 1992! Close by is Caesarea Philippi, the corrupt center of Baal and Pan worship, built to honor Augustus Caesar by Philip (Herod’s son) in 14 CE. It was here that Jesus asked Peter and the disciples a profound question (Mt. 16:15). Aftwerward, visit the Nimrod Fortress, built as a defense fortress on the way to Damascus. After lunch, our sightseeing continures with a  dramatic stop at Mt. Bental, a former military outpost and site of a key battle and Israeli victory in the 1973 Yom Kippur War. This view offers a magnificent panorama of Mt. Hermon and Syria. It is now a mountaintop UN observation post on the Syrian border. Stop at Olea Essence to see the Olive Press. Return to Tiberias. Dinner and Overnight: Hotel in Tiberias.

DAY 6 – MONDAY, MARCH 11

BET SHE’AN / QASER EL YAHUD / QUMRAN / DEAD SEA

A climatic day begins at Beit She’an, a historic city and site of one phenomenal moment – the Philistines hung the bodies of King Saul and his three sons from the city walls after their defeat (1 Samuel 31:10- 12). What we actually see are the spectacular ruins of a 1st Century BC Roman city renamed Scythopolis built adjacent to the original site. Depart Beit She’an. A short stop at Qaser El Yahud, the site where John the Baptist baptized Jesus. We’ll end the day with a visit at Qumran, the site of perhaps the greatest archaeological find of all time! It was here that a shepherd boy discovered The Dead Sea Scrolls in 1947. Dinner and overnight: Hotel at the Dead Sea.

DAY 7 – TUESDAY, MARCH 12

DEAD SEA SPA / MASADA / EIN GEDI / MT. SCOPUS

Today, we will start the day with a relaxing morning floating on the Dead Sea or enjoying some Dead Sea Spa treatments. After lunch, we will drive to Masada, a desert fortress begun in 100 BCE and completed by Herod in 20 BCE. At this place, 960 Jews committed suicide rather than die at the hands of the Romans in 73 CE! We will ascend to the plateau by cable car and explore this engineering feat. Afterwards, we visit Ein Gedi. We then begin to anticipate our climatic climb “up to” the key attraction of Israel – the majestic, celebrated city of Jerusalem on Mount  Scopus. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem.

DAY 8 – WEDNESDAY, MARCH 13

MOUNT OF OLIVES / GARDEN OF GETHSEMANE / UPPER ROOM / HEZEKIAH’S TUNNEL / CITY OF DAVID

Today we start our Jerusalem experience with a drive to the Mt. of Olives. Nothing will prepare you for the breathtaking vista of the Holy City from the Mt. of Olives. We walk the Jesus route down the “Palm Sunday Road” to the Garden of Gethsemane, pausing to remember the   passion of Jesus. Drive up to Mt. Zion and visit the Upper Room and the House of the High Priest Caiaphas or we know it today under the name St. Peter in Gallicantu. At the biblical City of David, the ancient ruins of the original Jerusalem that David conquered. After descending through the old city excavations, we will reenact history by walking through “Hezekiah’s” Tunnel, a 1,750-foot hand-hewn water tunnel (II Chr. 29–32) that ends at the Pool of Siloam (John 9). Flashlights and water shoes will be needed. We then have a spectacular moment at the Southern Steps of the Temple Mount. End the day with a walk through the Rabbinical Tunnel. Overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem.

DAY 9 – THURSDAY, MARCH 14

TEMPLE MOUNT / WESTERN WALL / JEWISH QUARTER / VIA DOLOROSA / ST. ANNE’S CHURCH / POOL OF BETHESDA

After breakfast, enter to the Temple Mount, the site of the first and second Jewish Temple which is the most fought over land on the earth. Since 638 AD, the Muslims have had control of the “Temple Mount” with a brief respite during the Crusades. The Dome of the Rock holds court visually, but it is the Al Aqsa Mosque that holds the prestige as the third holiest site within Islam. Both were constructed around 700 CE. After spending time on the Mount we will exit through St. Stephen’s Gate to see the blocked Golden Gate from outside the city. Reenter the city and visit St. Anne’s Church and the Pools of Bethesda (John 5:1ff “…wish to be made well?”). From here we begin a famed walk along the Via Dolorosa, the Way of Sorrows. Walk through the Jewish Quarter to the Western (Wailing) Wall, the holiest site in the entire Jewish world. In the afternoon, drive to Genesis Land (out of Jerusalem) for Abraham hospitality, camel ride and dinner. Overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem.

DAY 10 – FRIDAY, MARCH 15

ISRAEL MUSEUM / YAD VASHEM / GARDEN TOMB / SHABBAT SERVICE & DINNER

We begin our day with a visit to the Israel Museum and the Scale Model of Jerusalem (1:50 scale model of Herodian Jerusalem as it would have appeared in Jesus’ time). A visit to Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial. We will conclude our day with communion at the Garden Tomb, an alternative site that some believe to be the actual site of the crucifixion, Golgotha. This has become a special place for many Christians to reflect upon the death and resurrection of Jesus. Late checkout from the hotel and drive to Tel Aviv to attend Shabbat service and dinner at the   Chosen People Ministries. Return to your hotel in Jerusalem for overnight.

DAY 11 – SATURDAY, MARCH 16

JERUSALEM / TEL AVIV / USA

Early morning transfer to the airport for your flight back to the USA. Arrive the same day.
