You’ll also visit important cultural and historical sites like Yad Vashem, Masada and the Israel Museum. This bible-themed tour of Israel is an amazing opportunity to discover the roots of your Christian faith.

Overnight flight from USA to Tel-Aviv.

Upon arrival at Ben Gurion airport a Coral Travel & Tours representative will greet and assist you. Meet your guide and transfer to your hotel in Tel Aviv. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Tel Aviv.

After your Israeli breakfast drive along the Sharon plain to Caesarea. Caesarea was the seat of the Roman Procurator of Judea in the time of Christ and the place Peter converted the centurion Cornelius (Acts 10:24). Explore the Roman theater and the aqueduct and view the ruins of Roman, Byzantine and Crusader times. Continue to Mt. Carmel, to the “Mukhraka”, the site where Elijah challenged and defeated the 450 prophets of Baal (King 18:20). Continue to Megiddo, the fortress city of King Solomon, later built upon by King Ahab. The books of Daniel and Revelation will come alive as we study the final Battle of Armageddon (Revelation 16: 14-19). Drive through Nazareth, the home of Joseph and Mary and through the city of Cana of Galilee, where Jesus performed his first miracle (John 2: 1-11): turning jars of water into wine. Drive to Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Tiberias.

The day starts with a visit to the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:1-12). Continue to Capernaum, the town Jesus made his home after leaving Nazareth. Capernaum is the place where Jesus recruited the first of His disciples (Matthew 4:13, Luke 4:31-37, Matthew 8:14-17, Mark 2:1-12, Matthew 8:5-13, Mark 5:21-43, Matthew 11:23-24). Visit the excavation of the ancient synagogue and the house of St. Peter. You will also visit Gadera. For lunch we’ll have an opportunity to sample the St. Peter Fish. Take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. End the day at the Jordan River with an opportunity to be baptized (optional). Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Tiberias.

After breakfast, drive to Tel Dan, an important biblical city and a breathtaking nature reserve. The bible mentions the city a few times: “from Dan to Beer Sheba”. Continue to Banias, site of the ancient city, Caesarea Philippi. It is here that Peter made his confession of faith to Jesus (Matthew 16:13). Drive up the Golan Heights, pass Mt. Hermon and Nimrod’s Castle, to enjoy a panoramic view of the Golan Heights from Mt. Bental. Return to Tiberias. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Tiberias.

After breakfast leave the Sea of Galilee. Drive to Bet She’an where recent excavations have disclosed the impressive ruins of the country’s largest city in the Roman and Byzantine periods. Bet She’an was destroyed by an earthquake in 749 CE. Drive to Ein Harod (Gideon’s Spring), the site of Judge Gideon (Judges 7: 1-25) and Gan HaShlosha National Park – a natural oasis fed by underground springs. The tour continues through the Jordan Valley. Stop at Qasr al-Yahud, the place where Jesus was baptized. Pass Jericho, believed to be the world’s oldest walled city. This was the first city taken by     Joshua when the Hebrews returned from Egypt – ‘and the walls fell down.’ It was also the site of the Mount of Temptation (Mark 1:13). Drive along the shores of the Dead Sea on the way to your hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy a “float” on the Dead Sea. Dinner and overnight: Hotel at the Dead Sea.

This morning drive along the shores of the Dead Sea to Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Continue to Ein Gedi, an Oasis on the Dead Sea shore. Near the 200 meter high waterfall is a cave where  David had his famous meeting with King Saul (First Samuel 24: 1-23). A walk around the reservation confirms that Ein Gedi is one of the most beautiful reservations in the world. On to Masada. Ascend Masada by cable car. Masada is the site of the most dramatic act in Jewish History. Explore the ancient excavation of Herod’s Palaces, the bathhouse, the storerooms, the Roman siege ramp, and the oldest synagogue in the world. Return to your  hotel at the Dead Sea. Dinner and overnight: Hotel at the Dead Sea.

Depart your hotel at the Dead Sea and drive through the Philistine country to the Ella Valley, where David Fought Goliath. Continue to Beit Shemesh. Drive along the main highway and enter the city of Jerusalem in the traditional way. View the city from  Mt. Scopus. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem.

This morning drive to Mt. Zion and visit the City of David including Jeremiah’s Cistern, Hezekiah’s Tunnel, the Pool of Salome, and the Jewish Quarter. Enter the Old City and walk through the Cardo. Visit the Herodian Mansion, the Western Wall and the Temple institute. You will also visit the Davidson Center – Southern wall excavations, and the Western Wall Tunnel (the Rabbinical Tunnel). Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem.

This morning visit Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Museum. Continue to the Israel Museum, the Shrine of the Book (where some of the Dead Sea Scrolls and Bar Kokhva letters are exhibited) and the Holy Land Model. Drive through the Judean Hills and stop at the Shepherds’ Fields. Take time to view Bethlehem. Dinner and overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem.

After breakfast we’ll ascend the Mount of Olives (Matthew 24:3, Luke 21:37) for a breathtaking panoramic view of the old city of Jerusalem. Walk along the Palm Sunday Way to the Garden of Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36-46, Luke 22:39-45, Mark 14:32-42) where Jesus spent the last night before he was arrested. Drive along the “last way” to Mt. Zion. Cross the Kidron Valley and see the Tombs of Absalom, Zachary and James. Visit St. Anne’s Church, which is a fine example of Crusader architecture, and the Pools of Bethesda. Walk through the Christian Quarter. Visit Antonia Fortress and the Pavement Stones. Walk along the Way of the Cross to Calvary. End your visit to Jerusalem with a communion at the Garden Tomb. Farewell dinner. Overnight: Hotel in Jerusalem.

Transfer to the airport for your flight back to the USA. Arrive the same day.
