Preparing for your Christian Heritage Israel Tour

Preparing for your Christian Heritage Israel Tour

What You should know?

Preparing for an extensive international trip is an important factor in being able to enjoy your time abroad. This is even more true when you’re preparing for your Christian Heritage Israel Tour! During your visit, you will be bombarded with the sites, sounds, and spirit of Israel! But don’t worry, it’s a wonderful thing! However, you don’t want to spend time thinking about what you forgot to pack or that maybe you didn’t leave enough space in your luggage to bring home all the goodies you bought. So, I’m going to give your some tips which altogether will help you better prepare for your Israel journey. At the end of the article I’m including a link to our Quick Reference Guide that you can print as well.

Nitty Gritty

Once you’ve registered for your trip with Coral Travel & Tours, you’ll want to make sure your passport is in order. When traveling to Israel it must be valid for a minimum of 6 months after your departure date. Be sure to keep a copy on you during your stay in country. You’ll also want to keep a copy at home as well. If you don’t have a passport apply for one. It usually takes between 6 to 8 weeks to receive it. For an additional fee you can request expedited service if you are running short on time.

If for any reason you need to cancel your trip call us immediately at 866.267.2511 then follow-up in writing.

US and Canadian citizens do not need a VISA to enter Israel, nor are vaccinations necessary.

Travel Insurance is highly recommended. You can use any insurance provider of your choice. Coral Tours does offer travel insurance through TripMate for your convenience only.

Departure

Make sure you have your airline tickets and passport with you. When you provide us with your name on your registration form be sure it matches what is on your passport. This is the name your airline tickets will be issued to. I can’t overemphasize how important this is to avoid any unnecessary delays at the airport.

Luggage

You’re allowed to check in one (1), yes you read that right, ONE, suitcase for free. There is an extra charge for additional checked luggage. The suitcase cannot exceed 62 in. (height + width + length) and no more than 50 lbs. Airlines may charge extra for overweight luggage or not accept luggage that is bigger than the dimensions stated above. You are also allowed one carry-on that is maximum of 39 inches (again height + width + length). Be sure to attach the luggage tags Coral gives you as the color of the tags identify which bus you will be on (especially for tours with multiple buses). Please wear your Coral lanyard – this gets you into the hotel dining room! Extremely important!

Credit Cards & Money

Bring U.S. currency in small denominations. You can figure lunches to be around $15/day. Most of our tours include breakfast and dinner daily. Be sure to look at your tour’s detailed information to confirm what is provided. Beyond that, you may want to bring money for postcards, souvenirs, beverages, etc… If you plan to use your credit card in Israel call your bank before you leave to let them know you will be making purchases in Israel.

Suggestions for What to Bring

Pack loose-fitting clothing (you want to be comfortable on the long flight), items you can layer… comfortable walking shoes are a must! If you plan to be baptized in the Jordan River, a pair of water shoes is recommended. Bring a towel, sunglasses, a hat, and a compact umbrella in case of rain. During winter you’ll want to pack a heavier outer-coat and rain poncho. Spring temperatures are milder but be prepared for stray rain clouds in any case. Summer months are much warmer especially in the southern region of Israel.

Airport Security Information

  • Make sure you have your travel documents handy for check-in – not in your luggage.
  • Do not leave your luggage unattended in public
  • Be prepared for a body search via metal detector and/or physical search
  • Be ready to open your luggage for inspection if asked
  • Do not say or do anything that could delay departure

Spending time preparing ahead for your Christian Heritage Israel Tour will make it a more enjoyable an experience when you’re there. Don’t wait until the last minute! But if you do forget something like a rain poncho – not to worry – you can buy one in Israel. Have a blessed time during your Christian Israel Heritage Tour!
